Abbey Slip and old Penzance town

This is a view that probably hasn't changed a great deal in the last couple of hundred years.

To the right is Abbey Slip, the steep cobbled street leading from Chapel Street and the town centre down to the harbour.

The skyline is dominated by the tower of St Mary's church which looms over the Georgian houses on Chapel Street. I'm not sure what the other tower is and have never heard it mentioned by name.

This is coming up to high tide. Sometimes the water laps right over the road level. On more than a couple of occasions people have parked on the slipway here only to come back a few hours later to find the car floating...
