Bryher to Tresco - Cromwell's Castle view

Looking across the shallow stretch of water between Bryher and Tresco to Cromwell's Castle.

The castle, on the northern end of Tresco was built in 1651 to defend the harbour here (New Grimsby). It replaced the existing King Charles' Castle which was situated higher up and less able to defend this important anchorage on the Isles of Scilly
