Set in around 250 acres of woodland is the main lake in Tehidy Country Park. The lake is manmade and dates back to the mid 18th century. It is home to not only swans but a range of wildfowl including geese, ducks and moorhen. These woods once formed part of the estate of the Basset family, a mining dynasty who owned much of the land in this part of Cornwall.Today Tehidy woods are managed by Cornwall Council and open to the public.
