Located on Fish Street, just beyond the Sloop Inn, is this largely unremarkable cottage. It stands out from the surrounding houses in that it is bare granite as opposed to being whitewashed. However, on closer inspection I noticed it was adorned with a plaque which reads:
This plaque marks what is reputed to be the oldest house in St Ives
Whether this is true or not seems to be unverifiable. There is no doubt it is pretty old though, probably dating back to the 17th century.
