Scillonian in Mount's Bay

Always a picture book experience on a sunny morning to see the Scillonian leave Penzance Harbour and sailing across Mount’s Bay to the Isles of Scilly.

Built in 1977 the vessel has served the islands for more than 40 years. Although there is talk of a replacement it is still in good shape and a beautiful sight. The crossing, which takes about 3 hours, can be a wonderful and relaxing experience in the summer months when the seas is calm, but may pose a problem to passengers who are easily seasick.
