Turning Stormy at Botallack

View westwards over the cliffs at Botallack as stormy weather rolls in. This is West Cornwall's mining heartland and was the site of many of the area's most productive (and best known) tin mines. It seems bizarre that this was once a place of work for 100's of men and women once-upon-a-time.

Now the mining is gone and the mines are ruins against the backdrop of the raw beauty of the cliffs - dramatic scenery indeed. Something that didn't escape the producers of Poldark who filmed extensively along this stretch of coast.
