Re: 2011 Cornish Census results out

I see it as a positive thing. We have so many more numbers this time. I hate cliche's but.. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

2011 Cornish Census results out

I guess it's a sign that the trolls have won considering that nobody has posted about this in the 12 or-so hours that this news has been out.
Anyway, our numbers have risen by 20,000 since 2001.

Re: Getting more people to speak Cornish

All I was suggesting was creating a far easier way of learning. The Pimsleur approach is unimaginably good at creating fluency and understanding and the fact of the matter is, whether Factotum finds it relevant or not, lots of people are learning or want to learn Cornish.

Re: Getting more people to speak Cornish

We managed to get three lessons of this scripted and then it just stopped. I only ever recieved replies to my messages in Cornishs so not sure why.
Anyway, would anyone be up for restarting this project?

Re: The Cornish language

A couple of years ago I organised a group of Cornish speakers to put together a CD course based on the Pimsleur method. We got as far as an entire script for lesson one and then it stopped without explanation. Pimsleur courses are around 90 lessons of 30 minutes each. There is no writing or reading ...

Re: Duchy, Stannary and the Veto!

Well, having read a few more threads since my last post it actually appears that the troll is helping to save nationalist discussion and also this forum. Bet he didn't expect that!
I have never known a troll to be so dedicated though.

Re: more important Cornish discussion on troll factory site

I doubt any discussion on 4chan could ever have been called "real" or "serious". But if you think the Cornish cause can be won there, in between pictures of cats that look like Hitler and girls with their jugs out, then you carry on! As I said. It's an anything goes place. Yeah there are the ponies...

Are you lot still arguing with trolls? I haven't been on here in a year (it looks as though many others have taken leave as well) and yet people still can't see that Trevorpen is f****ng with you. Come on people. Open your eyes!

What, rather than watch real, serious discussion on Cornish and nationalist issues being played out on a world stage?
Fair enough.

I am saving this conversation as a web page so if anyone wants to take a look at the scale of conversation that goes on in a Cornish thread then ask me and I'll send it over.

more important Cornish discussion on troll factory site

I guess many of you won't have heard of /b/ or 4chan. It's an image board website where people post anonymously and where anything goes (literally not for the weak stomached). The anything goes nature is backed up by the fact that a thread will deactivate once it is no longer being updated, leaving ...

Re: Who is to blame for its Decline?

It's a combination of people not ignoring trolls and large egos getting in the way of forward thinking and progression.

Re: Cornish Devolution Now

Within weeks David Miliband was in Cornwall talking to leading Cornish councillors and officers. He said: ‘When I offer the opportunity to restructure local governance then don’t be afraid to ask for what you really want!’ Everybody in the room thought:!‘The Cornish Assembly – it’s a goer!’ David W...

Re: Cornwall in space

Preserved? For what? Surely a dead, baron planet would be far better suited to a lush, useful outpost for at least evolutionary/biological research even if not for communities to live on. Why worship and preserve something of no use whatsoever? It's hardly a shrine.
