..its a Glamour thing Marhak....
The Brazilian thing is associated with the new, the arcane and exiting.
Cornish Wrestling (IF youngsters have even heard of it...) conjours up lumpy blokes in jerkins rolling around a wet field out Buryan way or similar watched by three lads from the Young Farmers Club, old men in whiskers supping pints, and maybe some blokes in blue robes and tiaras (!) all sat around on bales of hay....
Look at all the successful sports, and you will see that, without any exception I can bring to mind, they have all modified, changed their image and even their styles and rules to keep up to date and attract followers.
Also, it used to be a "Village feast and Fair day" sort of thing, and with so many of the feasts and fairs gone, and even the few remaining getting smaller, where is the future?
Graham.
